Damian and I got new cellphone devices called Droid ERIS today and spent all evening playing with it.
It’s like iPhone but very customizable, especially I liked that you can place some widgets on the screen (like weather, calendar, etc….).
Also, wow, we were so surprised how much things you can do if you have data plan… lol We felt we are kinda outdated… lol
Anyway, so far I like this little gadget very much!

I’ve been growing herbs like rosemary, parsley and peppermint. Recently it got bigger and more, so I decided to make it to dry herbs.

I’m hanging them in my guest room now… I hope I can make it dry with no problem….

I’ve been having this problem connecting the internet using Windows Vista on my iMac (using bootcamp). It’s been very very slow. Frustratingly slow. It was almost unusable.
A week ago, I tried speakeasy’s speed test on both Windows Vista and MacOS, and where MacOS got over 9000 on download speed, Windows Vista only got less than 2000. Although it’s using the same wireless connection with the same wireless card… I mean, it’s on the same iMac!
Damian and I have been trying so hard to search for a solution but we had no luck (although we found out that a lot of people have the same problem.) There were some people posted “I fixed it!” but we couldn’t fix our problem using their method.
Well, after working on this problem for a while, Damian finally fixed it!!
Damian, you are the man!!!!!!
lol Anyway,
the thing is, though, version of broadcom driver for the wireless network card seemed to be the problem. My MacOS Disk which came with my iMac included the latest driver for the wireless network card, which version is
5.10.91.4…. and this version 5 seemed to make the connection very slow.
So, here’s what we tried;
1. Go to this website.
2. Download a file called “sp39911.exe” which is 7zip file. This is an older version (4.170.77.3) of Broadcom driver. Extract “sp39911.exe” using 7zip.
3. Go to Device Manager from Control Panel. Go to “Network Adapters” and Right click broadcom Wifi Adapter. Properties window appears.
4. Click “Driver” tab, click “Update Driver…” button. “Update Driver Software” window appears. Select “Browse my computer for driver software”.
5. Select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers…”.
Click “Have Disk…” button.
6. Select the folder which includes extracted “sp39911.exe” files. It’ll show “bcmwl6, so select it and click “Open”.
7. On the window “Select Network Adapter”, there are four network adapter listed there. Select “Broadcom 4322AG 802.11a/b/g/draft-n Wi-Fi Adapter” which is second from the top.
And after that, just followed the guidance…
I think we needed to restart after that.
And…voila!! We went to the speedtest and it was dramatically fast, which is the same as when we tried on MacOS.
It was 9100!! Which means….
We fixed it!!!
Now I don’t have to switch to MacOS whenever I want to browse the internet when I’m on Vista.
Although we spent all evening fixing this problem yesterday, we felt really good after this….
